The Council of Governors (CoG) chairperson alleged that counties receive inadequate and delayed funds under the current regime therefore, they support have no alternative but to support ‘one man, one vote, one shilling’ to share national resources.
According to Waiguru, introduction of BBI will ensure that the majority of students from the vast Mount Kenya region will benefit from bursaries complete their education.
Building Bridges Initiative was one of the Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila’s projects and was seeking to have national resources allocated based on population.
However, the project was politicised and failed with the Supreme Court driving the last nail into the BBI’s coffin.
