Information Communication Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Eluid Owalo has today revealed a plan that will see President William Ruto’s administration cut advertising with media houses.
Speaking today on Citizen TV JKF Live, the CS added that the government cannot continue to finance the media in Kenya calling on them to think of other sources.
In what could be a blow to most local media houses including Citizen TV, CS Owalo said that the plan which will take place once he gets approvals from different Government agencies will not spare any media House.
According to Owalo, the move is aimed at limiting President William Ruto’s administration spending on the unnecessary matters amid the changing technology.
Asked about whether the media is biased, Owalo said “I believe that the media is still facing a hangover from the last elections. The media was not impartial at all during the last election. It seems that the media up to today has still not accepted that the candidate they supported in the last election did not win.”
