Citizen TV’s journalist Jamila Mohammed reacted to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga’s declaration that there will be protests three times weekly.

According to her, protesting weekly is not practical because no one is listening. That people are speaking at each other and not to each other.

Jamila talked about the public participation that was there about the finance bill stating that there were those who were for it and others who were against it.

She asked whether those who were against it were listened to and whether amendments were done before the finance bill signed into law.

That the government had a manifesto with ideas that are beneficial to the people but they need a good explanation why they have to endure tough economic times and also listened to.

Jamila said, “Before the finance act was finance bill there was public participation and we saw more people speaking against it compared to those who were for it. Were they listened to and if yes were there amendments before it became a law?

She urged those in power to consider the lives that have been lost and change their way of approaching the current situation.
