Mathira MP has apologised on behalf of the Kenya Kwanza MPs for disturbing the President by opposing any handshake deal between him and the opposition leader Raila Odinga. Speaking at Sagana State Lodge, the MP stated that they were not aware that the President had already made up his mind that there will be no power-sharing deal between the government and the opposition.
The MP went ahead and promised the President that the Kenya Kwanza MPs will no longer disturb him concerning the handshake matter after they learnt that the President is also against it.
“We apologize to you because we have been disturbing you concerning the handshake and the dialogue thing…we have been telling you that there will be no handshake and yet you had made up your minds a long time ago that there will be no handshake or ‘Nusu Mkate’. We are sorry we didn’t know that you decided that there will be no handshake, you will not hear us again telling you that we don’t support any handshake,” Mathira MP said.
