Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has cautioned Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his team against resuming streets protests.
The CS said they have received intelligence that Raila could be planning to go back to street should talk fail for the second time.
Kindiki said he won’t allow politicians to instil fear in innocent people because they want to achieve political objectives.
Speaking during a church service in Nyeri, Kindiki said the opposition had the right to demonstrate, as long as they maintained peace.
He added that they have ensured that there will be no anti-government protests in future in order to give Ruto a chance to deliver on his campaign promises.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga stated that he will direct his supporters to take to the streets next month in protest of President William Ruto’s government if the planned bi-partisan talks between the opposition and Kenya Kwanza amount to nothing.
He recently said that moving forward, the coalition will adopt a new method of civil disobedience if the cost of living does not come down and electoral justice is not served.
