The membership recruitment drive of the United Democratic Alliance Party in Kisii took a different turn on Monday transforming into a platform for criticizing Azimio leader Raila Odinga. Various leaders expressed their disapproval of the ODM party leader’s alleged plan to incite anti-government activities on Friday, the 7th of this week.
Sylvanus Osoro who is the Majority Chief Whip and Cleophas Malala who is the UDA Secretary General, both stated that Odinga’s frequent demonstrations have yielded little results suggesting that he should change his approach.
The MP for South Mugirango emphasized that Kenya has moved beyond elections and it is crucial for leaders to unite in their vision to propel the country forward. He encouraged citizens to exercise patience as the Kenya Kwanza Government implements its development agenda.
Malala in a separate statement criticized Senator Okiya Omtata for allegedly being instrumental in obstructing government plans through court cases and injunctions.
Jhanda addressed those who recently joined UDA advised them to wait patiently in line, assuring them that the administration will address the foundational issues first. He urged residents of the county not to heed calls to participate in protests on Friday. Nyakundi remarked that while Odinga takes to the streets, the Kisii community will be engaged in harvesting activities on their farms.
