A special National Delegates Convention Center (NDC) event that was scheduled for Saturday, July 22, has been canceled by the Jubilee Party’s highest leadership as of Friday, July 21.
It has been decided to postpone the meeting that was scheduled for the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) till next month.
Deputy Secretary General (SG) Joshua Kutuny verified the revision in the message put up by the Jubilee party while also stating that they have sent the messages to the party delegates. They have yet to decide on a new date, he noted.
Kutuny revealed the reason for the meeting’s early cancellation, stating that it was done in order to give their lawyers time to “interpret the recent High court order” about the ongoing court cases.
Through a circular dated June 6, Hon. Kanini Kega, a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), had called the meeting. The gathering was held after the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which was called to discuss the party’s state.
This comes after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) declared that the meeting that former President Uhuru Kenyatta conducted on May 22 at the Ngong racetrack was void.
