TSC announces 46,000 job vacancies

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 46,000 job vacancies for qualified teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.

According to the advertisement post, the vacancies are for public primary school teachers (6,000), junior schools (39,550), and another 450 positions for those seeking secondary school teaching jobs.

“The Teachers Service Commission invites applications to fill 46,000 vacancies for qualified teachers on permanent and pensionable terms of service. The available posts are as follows: 6,000 posts for primary schools, 39, 550 posts for junior schools, and 450 posts for secondary schools,” TSC announced.

Additionally, the commission announced that details of the vacancies available per county, sub-county, or school are on the TSC’s official website, adding that the deadline for the application is October 7, 2024.

“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teachers Service Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke, under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke, not later than 7th October 2024, at midnight,” TSC added.

“Details on available vacancies per county/sub-county/or school are on the Teachers Service Commission’s website: www.isc.go.ke.”

Eligibility

According to the commission, eligible candidates must meet the following requirements: be a Kenyan citizen; must be a holder of a minimum of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of junior and secondary schools; mode of application notary must be a registered teacher with TSC.

Recruitment process

According to TSC boss Nancy Macharia, shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates and must not fill out more than one application for employment form.

She further directed serving interns to apply at their current counties’ workstations and will be required to present only their identity cards during the verification process.

“Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates. Successful candidates must not fill out more than one application for an employment form. Filling out two or more applications for employment forms will lead to disqualification, and manual applications will not be considered,” Macharia said.

“Serving interns are expected to apply in their current counties/sub-counties/workstations. Serving interns will only be required to present their identity cards during the verification process.”

Macharia went on to encourage persons living with disabilities to apply for the available job vacancies.

“The TSC is an equal opportunity employer as per the constitutional provisions and law, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are encouraged to apply,” she added.
