Hours before the Kericho county Assembly Adhoc committee tabled the report from alleged misuse of funds meant for Londiani accident victims, tension in the green town is high with alleged bribery and plans to scuttle tomorrow’s sitting by those mentioned.
Making the claims is the vocal Kapsoit MCA Paul Chirchir. Taking to his highly followed Facebook page, Chirchir said that there were plans by a section of the representatives to side with those who allegedly misused the money.
He put on spot all MCAs on spot threatening to expose all those he claim to have been bought out by the suspects.
“Kericho County Assembly has a total of 47 MCAs.30-elected and 17- Nominated. Follow Kericho County Assembly Facebook Page Live tomorrow and how each MCA will Vote to support Londiani Victims or Oppose them deep in their Graves , those who will be hiding in the assembly Toilets will be Counted as well to have opposed, ” he wrote.
About 2 weeks ago, Kericho’s deputy governor Eng Fred Kirui blew the whistle that more than 8M shillings fundraised for the Londiani accident victims had been squandered. This rattled the assembly which began investigation and is expected to table it’s report tomorrow. The tension around the assembly is rising by the minute giving both leaders and locals long sleepless night.
