Confusion has emerged after a group of alleged victims of the recent demonstrations in the country writes to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan asking for investigations against opposition chief leader Raila Odinga and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta for their alleged role in the anti-government protests.
Under the umbrella of Victims of Maandamano Insurgents (VMI), the group claims that the opposition chiefs are behind the demonstrations which resulted to violence that led to the loss of life and alleged attempts to overthrow President William Ruto’s government. In addition, the group also alleged that the leaders have committed crimes against humanity through the anti-government protests and they should be prosecuted.
Raila Odinga and his team had submitted a report to ICC against the police brutality but now things are overturning against them for a group of victims want ICC to prosecute the opposition for leading in the demonstrations.
