Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Wakhungu Malala has alleged that Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition are conducting these town-hall meetings and ‘maandamanos’ for only one purpose and assured them that it will not happen.
Speaking at a church service, Malala urged President Ruto, Gachagua and the Cabinet Secretaries to deal with serving Kenyans and initiate development projects. On matters with dealing with Raila Odinga and his demonstrations, he as UDA secretary general will mobilize people supporting Ruto to conduct meetings to counter Azimio ones, he believes government has more support compared to the opposition.
Malala went on to claim that he was informed by leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichungwah, that Azimio are doing these tactics against the government just for one purpose, a handshake. He stated that there will be nothing like handshake in Ruto’s government, claiming that handshake between Uhuru and Raila plunged the country into economy hard times being felt currently.
Azimio La Umoja are expected to conduct a consultative meeting with Kenyans tomorrow at Kamukunji grounds where they will announce their next move after the finance bill was signed into law. The finance has clauses such as increase on fuel VAT from 8 to 16% that will see price of regular commodities skyrocket due to its direct and indirect impact on various sectors of the economy.
