Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba on Friday donated 2,000 sanitary towels to the victims of the Embakasi fire tragedy that occurred last week.
The senator presented the donations to the area Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino who expressed gratitude to the senator for the kind gesture.
While receiving the donations, Babu underscored that the warm gesture would relieve the victims who lost everything they had to the tragedy.
Babu hailed the senator stating that she was one of the right decisions President William Ruto made considering that Orwoba was quick to assist the women affected devoid of political affiliations.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Senator Gloria Orwoba for this great opportunity and donating pads to the fire victims and those whose houses were razed down, those who have nothing left except the clothes they are putting on..those who were affected have no money to purchase anything but at least senator has taken this opportunity, ametuokoa sana.
“This is devoid of political parties, the senator has seen it fit to help the people of Embakasi East constituency, he has given us around 2,000 pieces of sanitary towels and this is encouraging, our women and sisters will benefit from this. You’re one of the right decisions that Ruto made,” Babu stated.
On her part, the senator sympathised with those affected and promised to bring the second batch of the much-needed commodity.
“Nasema pole to all victims that were affected and we’ll keep coming,” she stated.
The latest comes days after Babu Owino and opposition leader Raila Odinga donated Ksh1 million each to the victims affected.
“Today morning H.E Baba Raila Amolo Odinga sent me 1 million Kenya Shillings to help the fire victims,” Babu stated on his official X account.
”In addition, I have donated an extra Sh1 million towards this noble cause totalling Sh2 million. Other Azimio Leaders are also contributing towards this,” he added.
