Salasya Warns President Ruto of a Looming Revolution If He Does Not Prioritize Hustler’s Concerns

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has warned President William Ruto of a looming revolution by the people of Kenya if he does not listen and take action to the concerns being raised by Kenyans.

According to Salasya, the recent Finance Bill signed into law by President Ruto thinking that the government will raise more revenue, it will in fact raise lesser revenue than what the government expect.

He claimed that a bank teller earning 94k salary now will by the end of this earn about 55k monthly. This, according to Salasya, would make people reason out that there is no need to do a job when he can start a small business, hence there will a mass quit from already salaried people because of these huge deductions.

Salasya reminded Ruto he should not brush off the concerns raised by Kenyans because a revolution is coming. He added that things like house levy, VAT increase and creation of extra Cabinet positions were not necessary for now, when the economy is trying so hard to recover.

He therefore urged the government to sit down with the opposition and agree on the way they will deal with saving the economy without burdening the citizens further.
