Ruto Picks 11 Cabinet Secretaries: Kindiki, Duale, Soipan Tuya Make Comeback

The list includes notable names making a comeback to Ruto’s Cabinet.

President William Ruto has announced that he has begun to form a broad-based Cabinet, with 11 individuals nominated as Cabinet Secretaries.

He spoke during an address to the nation at State House, Nairobi on Friday, July 19 when he announced the first 11 members of his new-look Cabinet.

“I have started the process of forming a new broad-based cabinet to assist in driving the urgently needed and irreversible transformation of our country. I nominate the following first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly,” stated Ruto.

Some of the names unveiled include Kithure Kindiki who served as the Interior CS in the last Cabinet and was proposed to retain his position in the Interior docket.

Former CSs who were recommended to retain their positions include Alice Wahome (Lands), Aden Duale (Defence) and Soipan Tuya (Environment).

Meanwhile, former Energy CS Davis Chirchir was nominated to the Roads and Transport docket.

  1. Ministry of the Interior and National Administration – Prof  Kithure Kindiki
  2. Ministry of Health – Dr Debra Mlongo Barasa
  3. Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development – Alice Wahome
  4. Ministry of Education – Julius Migos Ogamba
  5. Ministry of Defence – Aden Barre Duale
  6. Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development – Dr Andrew Mwihia Karanja
  7. Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry – Roselinda Soipan Tuiya
  8. Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation – Eric Muriithi Muuga
  9. Ministry of Roads and Transport – Davis Chirchir
  10. Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy – Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u
  11. Attorney-General – Rebecca Miano
