Ruto Appoints Selection Panels For SRC, IPOA & 2 Other Commissions [LIST]

President Ruto constituted the selection panels to recruit the nominees for appointment as Chairpersons and Members to the Commissions and Offices.

President William Ruto has appointed members of selection panels tasked with constituting the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff, Felix Koskei, in a statement to newsrooms, revealed on Thursday, August 29 that President Ruto constituted the selection panels to recruit the nominees for appointment as Chairpersons and Members to the Commissions and Offices.

“It is notified that the terms of office for the respective Chairpersons and Members of four Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices are set to lapse.

“The State Officers appointed to the ranks of those bodies serve a single non-renewable term of six years,” read the statement in part.

Furthermore, the selection panels have been appointed per nominations from professional bodies, organisations, institutions, and State Offices.

They constitute the statutory membership of selection panels for recruitment to the specific Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices. 

The selection panel for the recruitment of nominees for appointment of SRC chairperson includes Joshua Wambua, Patrick Mtange, Monica Sifuna, Quresha Abdullahi, Public Service PS Amos Gathecha, Mary Kimonye, Lawrence Kibet, and Samuel Kaumba.

In the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), President Ruto appointed Edwin Makori, Zena Jalenga, Jasper Mbiuki, Susan Chelagat, Patrick Wamoto, and Joan Machayo to recruit nominees for appointment as chairperson and two members of the commission.

In the selection panel for the recruitment of a new NGEC chairperson and one member of the commission, the Head of State appointed Florence Nyole, Timothy Odongo, Lerina Kariringah, Linda Musumba, Janet Kumg’u, Maimuna Mwidau, Reuben Chirchir, and Mary Mwiandi.

President Ruto also appointed Arthur Osiya, Justice Msagha Mbogholi, Joyce Nyabuti, Monica Wanjiru, Raymond Nyeris, and Calorine Naikeana to the selection panel for the recruitment of nominees for appointment of IPOA chairperson and seven members of the commission.

With the constitution of the selection panels, the government called on qualified Kenyans to apply for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the four commissions.

“His Excellency The President encourages all qualified Kenyans to respond to the clarion call to serve the nation by making applications for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the respective Commissions and Offices once invitations to prospective applicants have been made,” Koskei stated.

Kenyans were also urged to exercise their civic duty by submitting memoranda on the suitability of the candidates who will be shortlisted by the respective Selection Panels.
