AU President, Moussa Faki Mahamat, previously had a sour relationship with President William Samoei Ruto, who was by then serving as the deputy president. Moussa Faki Mahamat worked closely with the ex-president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and worked often with the former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga.
