President Ruto’s Gov’t Proposes To Amend Constitution To Block Raila’s Demonstrations

President William Samoei Ruto’s UDA party has presented a bill to the speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Moses Masika Wetangula, proposing to amend Kenya’s constitution to curb demonstrations and picketing.

According to Hon. Geoffrey Ruku, the chief organizer of the demonstration should be liable for all the losses that ensue during the process of rioting.

Moreover, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku said that police officers should be constitutionally allowed to either approve or disapprove the happening of the demonstrations.

Hon. Geoffrey Ruku made a swift motion to reprimand the former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga who has again provided a hint of the return of nationwide demonstrations after publicly declining to further participate in bipartisan dialogue with President William Samoei Ruto’s KKA.
