President Ruto, CS Kindiki Allegedly Taken To ICC Over Police Brutality During Demonstrations

President William Ruto, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome troubles over victims of Azimio anti- government demostrations continued to pile up.

This is after Lobby Group named Operation Linda Ugatuzi wrote to International Criminal Court(ICC) accusing the three of crimes against humanity.

The Chairman of the lobby group, Prof. Fredrick Onyango Ogala and Calystus Wafula urged ICC to investigate the charge the trio with destruction of property and conducting and coordinating killing of innocent Kenyans.

” Their actions may have led to the current state of chaos witnessed in the Sondu area in Kisumu and other places in the Republic of Kenya. We believe that these incidents were planned systematically by elements within the police force and that orders to kill demonstrators were issued from the highest levels, ” wrote the group.

Acknowledging ICC expertise and capacity in dealing with such crimes, they said that they are ready to take responsibility and are committed to providing all relevant information in pursuit of justice.

The lobby accused police officers of using excessive force and brutality killing peaceful protestors. Raila Odinga has made it clear that he will gather all necessary evidence to hold the government and key leaders, including President Ruto, accountable for alleged police brutality

He intends to pursue criminal charges against them, and even as President Ruto is currently serving his first term, Raila is determined to see the case taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

As Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition supporters continue to mourn the departed souls who died as a result of protesting, they have continued to gather information and evidences to use against the state over the killings made during demonstrations.
