Political Experts Worried, Alleges What Ruto Is Busy Doing While Economy Suffers Heavy Blow In ICU

While President William Ruto embarks on an intensive nationwide tour, discussions arise regarding the significance of these extensive visits, which are expected to encompass all sub-counties nationwide.

In a remarkably short span of time, he has covered all coastal counties, the Rift Valley, certain parts of Nyanza, the entire Mt. Kenya region, and is now heading to the western region this weekend.

During these visits, the President has inaugurated road and water projects, inaugurated bus parks, participated in church services, initiated church construction projects, and engaged with the public by walking through towns and exchanging high fives with the people.

Detractors argue that substantial amounts of money, which could otherwise be allocated to fund dispensaries, libraries, and laboratories, are expended by the president and his team during these gatherings. 2983cbdc863945b7b8494eeac0738c6d?quality=uhq&resize=720

They contend that the president’s extensive travels, involving the distribution of title deeds and initiation of various projects, could be better managed by his subordinates, rendering it unwise for him to personally traverse the nation for such activities.

“Instead of buying medicine for hospitals or improving the power grid and equipping school a lot of money is spend paying for fuel, per diems for drivers and aids. They also go with personal assistants for the large entourage that accompanies the president on the week long regional visits,” says Prof Gitile Naituli of Multi-Media University.

Professor Naituli believes that during the initial three years of his term, the president should focus more on fulfilling his commitments to the Kenyan people by dedicating substantial time to his official duties rather than giving the impression of being in campaign mode.

Lumala shares similar sentiments, advising President Ruto to avoid making additional promises during public rallies, given the existing workload on his agenda. Instead, he suggests that Ruto concentrate on addressing the existing pledges he has made.

“We don’t need him in rallies and churches every weekend because it is also eating into government resources. Remember he went around and created economic blocks in all counties that are all awaiting action,” said Lumala.fb8160625169424e8504bfdeb809a9f2?quality=uhq&resize=720

Political analyst Martin Andati draws a comparison between Deputy President Ruto and former President Daniel arap Moi. Andati notes that like President Moi, Ruto is engaging in similar activities such as touring numerous regions of the country on weekends, inaugurating projects, interacting with students, participating in fundraisers, attending church services, and criticizing opposition and dissenting voices.

“He worked with President Moi for many years and so you will continue seeing that in his leadership style over the next four years,” political analyst Martin Andati told The Sunday Standard last week.
