It is a matter of hours before the highly publicised Saba Saba rally slates for the infamous Kamukunji Ground in Nairobi this Friday. The event is one that is of its kind since it will mark the beginning of another fresh wave of anti-government demonstrations led by Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
The opposition outfit has decried the current tough economic and the recently passed Finace Bill as the key undoinhs by the Kenya Kwanza government that call for urgent intervention by the disgruntled Kenyan masses.
The Kamukunji rally may mark another turning point in Kenya’s political spectrum as what might eventually unfold still remains unclear. Such events have been prone to political unrest in the country previously and tgis time may not be an exemption.
As the seventh day of the seventh month of the year continues to inch closer and closer, latest political check by Nation Online News has established that there could be a clash between the opposition and police. This is after it emerged that the police only permitted the Azimio camp to only hold a rally and should not resort to any kind of protest or demonstrations.
Despite the above order, top Azimio Leadership has confirmed the meeting as a trigger of nationwide anti-government protests which will eventually take effect in successive days.
As the moment draws nearer and nearer, tgings are likely to be messy and noisy as the opposition is likely to engage in an ugly encounter with the police.
