First Lady Rachel Ruto on Friday hosted Australian-American Evangelist and motivational speaker, Nick Vujicic at State House in Nairobi.
While describing him as a testament to the power of the human spirit, the First Lady acknowledged that Vujicic’s visit was an absolute honour to her and that the visit reminded her that obstacles indeed become opportunities.
“Nick Vujicic, an Australian-American Christian evangelist and motivational speaker, is a global icon of resilience and positivity. Despite being born with Tetra Amelia Syndrome, a condition characterised by the absence of arms and legs, he has never let his physical limitations define him. He is a testament to the power of the human spirit.
“His ministry, Life Without Limbs, and his message of faith in Jesus Christ have touched countless lives around the world. His courage, tenacity, and positivity are truly inspiring. Meeting him was a reminder that obstacles can indeed become opportunities,” the First Lady stated.
Vujicic’s visit comes a year after he met over 2,000 students in Ithanga, Murang’a county.
At the time of his visit, Vujicic disclosed that he averted 10 Kenyan students from committing suicide whereas 1,000 others gave their lives to Christ.
“1,000+ students made a commitment to follow Jesus and ten letters were received saying that they planned out their suicide to be next week, but those plans no longer exist and now they’ve been changed fully from the inside out!” he wrote on Instagram.
The pastor first visited the country in 2003 before returning in 2013.
