Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday morning took his signature early morning walk while in Nandi County.
In a refreshing display of camaraderie and commitment to a healthy lifestyle, Deputy President Gachagua and Governor Stephen Sang were spotted taking a revitalizing morning walk through the picturesque landscapes of Nandi.
The walk however according to the DP was significant as it came on the day his boss was holding a church service at Karen, Nairobi County. 
The dynamic duo, known for their dedication to public service, set aside their busy schedules to embrace the serene beauty of Nandi while promoting the importance of staying active.
The DP said that Ruto unlike his predecessors has opened the Karen Church to everyone including hustlers to join him in thanking God for His goodness.
Against the backdrop of Nandi’s rolling hills and lush greenery, DP Gachagua and Governor Sang laced up their walking shoes, symbolizing a united front in advocating for a healthier community. As the sun painted the sky with warm hues, the two leaders embarked on a brisk walk that not only invigorated their spirits but also sent a powerful message to their constituents.
He emphasized that implementation of Kenya Kwanza’s plan for a better Kenya will only be possible with focus and God’s intervention.
Amidst friendly banter and engaging conversations, the leaders discussed their shared vision for Nandi’s growth and development. Their synchronized footsteps and animated discussions showcased the strength of their partnership, emphasizing the value of collaboration in addressing the region’s challenges.
This is the first time since he was sworn in as deputy President on September 13, 2023 to take a walk in Nandi County.
“I believe in leading by example,” DP Gachagua remarked. “Promoting a healthy lifestyle is not just about words; it’s about actions. Governor Sang and I wanted to demonstrate our commitment to the well-being of our people by embracing an active morning routine.”

Governor Sang echoed his sentiment, emphasizing the positive impact of regular exercise on both physical and mental well-being. “Our roles as leaders extend beyond the administrative aspects,” he stated. “We must inspire our communities to adopt healthy habits that contribute to a better quality of life.”
Gachagua said he enjoys the early morning walks while in the village as it is a great moment to engage and catch up with his “fellow villagers”.
The local residents of Nandi were pleasantly surprised as they witnessed the leaders pass by, exchanging waves and greetings with the duo. “It’s heartwarming to see our leaders taking the time to engage in activities that benefit us all,” said one resident. “Their walk serves as a reminder that health and unity go hand in hand.”
According to Gachagua, the residents had a lot of feedback on infrastructure and the general development initiatives of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
The morning walk wasn’t just about promoting health and unity—it also provided an opportunity for DP Gachagua and Governor Sang to interact with constituents on a more personal level.
