Pastor Dorcas Rigathi meets county first ladies to advance boy child, vulnerable people programs

Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has revealed details of her meeting with officials of the County First Ladies Association.

In a social media post on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Dorcas Rigathi noted that boy child and vulnerable people programs took centre stage in their discussion as they explored opportunities for collaborating and implementing these projects under her office.

This was her first meeting with the county first ladies.

Among the county first ladies present were: Allamitu Jattani (Marsabit), Saline Barchok (Bomet), Beatrice Sakaja (Nairobi), Dr. Emily Chesire (Baringo), Edna Lenku (Kajiado), Emily Nyaribo (Nyamira), and Rukia Abdinasir (Wajir).

“I held the inaugural meeting with the officials of the County First Ladies Association, led by their leadership, at the Karen Official Residence. Our primary objective in coming together was to explore opportunities for cooperation in the implementation of programs under my office.

“These programs are designed to make a positive impact on various segments of our society, including the boy child, widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities, and are firmly rooted in chaplaincy, outreach, and the promotion of family values,” part of her statement read.

The second lady affirmed her commitment to ensuring the programmes are implemented and successful.

“I am committed to nurturing these collaborations and ensuring that they bear fruit, as we work together to positively impact the lives of the boy child and the vulnerable individuals throughout all 47 counties in our nation,” she stated.

Dorcas is an award-winning champion of the boy child and last month she was feated during the Africa Public Sector Awards and Conference Awards (APSCA) 2023 held in Nairobi.

Pastor Dorcas was honoured with the ‘Outstanding Catalyst in Vulnerable Empowerment Award’ for her efforts to empower the boy child and work with widows, orphans, and people with disabilities in Kenya.
