Activist Boniface Mwangi has warned the Kenyan Gen Zs of a possible hijacking of their movement by a section of politicians.
Taking to his official X account on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the activist said the old politicians in the country have been threatened by the Gen Z movement.
Hijacking Gen Z movement
According to Mwangi, the Gen Z movement has pushed the old politicians towards a decision to start speaking in one voice.
“What did l tell you? The old politicians feel threatened by the Gen Z movement, and that’s why they are now speaking in one language,” Mwangi said.
Enemies of progress
Mwangi went ahead to point out that the real enemies of the Gen Z movement have now come out, and can be easily identified by the youth.
The activist also pointed out that the said old politicians have proved to be the enemies of progress, and are working to kill the reality of the new Kenya that Gen Zs are fighting for.
He has warned the Gen Zs not to allow themselves to be played by the politicians.
“Now we know the enemies of progress and those who want to kill the reality of the new Kenya. Watch them play us, but don’t allow to be played,” Mwangi said in his social media statement.

His remarks come just hours after Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya leaders led by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and Wiper Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka, witnessed President William Ruto assent to the IEBC Amendment Bill at KICC, Nairobi.
The leaders later addressed a press conference where they spoke on matters touching the Gen Z movement.
Raila’s remarks
During the event, Raila emphasized the importance of fully implementing the National Dialogue Committee report.
Raila highlighted the comprehensive nature of the Nadco report in tackling the critical issues raised by young Kenyans.
Also present at the KICC event were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and Attorney General Justin Muturi among other senior state officers.
From the opposition, National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, ODM deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya were also present.
On Monday, July 8, 2024, President Ruto invited leaders from all sides of the political divide, and from within and outside parliament to join him in the event.
