Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has elicited mixed reactions after claiming that he is now in position to tell who among the Kenyan Parliamentarians elected in 2022 will not be re-elected in 2027.
Speaking in a funeral ceremony in Kericho County, the Deputy President thanked the MP for Kipkelion East Constituency for engaging the presidency time and again for the sake of development in his Constituency.
“I want to tell you that you elected a serious leader who knows what to do. He is not like others who, a year after elections, have not even bothered to engage us. I want to ask you to pray for him and most importantly support his ambitious bid to develop this Constituency. And to you honorable member, I want to encourage you to keep going to those ministry offices. Don’t fear. Disturb those Cabinet Secretaries. Huyo Waziri asidhani hio ofisi ni yake na bibi yake,” DP Gachagua noted.
The Kiswahili part literally translates to the cabinet secretary should not think that the office he bears belongs to him and his wife.
