East Mumias. Peter Salasya, a member of parliament, has joined the appeal by the head of the opposition ODM for Kenyans to utilise public transport and facilities to work as a form of protest against President William Ruto’s administration.
On Tuesday, July 11th, the young MP took a matatu into town in great spirits to emulate Raila. Salasya was filmed chatting with fellow matatu riders in a video posted to his Facebook page. Salasya told the man in front of him that he ditched his car to avoid paying the government’s fuel tax and to conserve petrol.
“Raila Odinga stated and we are all following by boarding matatu. If he says we walk, we must walk. We are denying Ruto fuel tax. Imagine my vehicle consumes fuel worth KSh 15,000 daily,” he said.
