President William Ruto’s government has deployed anti-riot police officers in Eldoret as residents cry, others sit down, others kneel down in an emotional demo seeking for the refund of their money from overseas scholarship programme which has now faced backlash from the residents.
In an emotional video shared by Standard Digital, the angry residents others sat down in the middle of the road crying while carrying placards which was demanding for the refund of their money. Others carried twigs and tree branches in the peaceful protest.
Anti-riot police officers in a lorry, others in police Landcruisers have been spotted at the scene where they residents are crying for help.
The video shows that top police officials are trying to reason with the residents who only want their money back.
“Protesters rally in Eldoret as Uasin Gishu County overseas study program faces backlash from parents and students.” Standard Digital reported.
In the video,the police has not yet resorted to the use of teargas to disburse the residents.
