Murkomen Disagrees With Ichung’wah On Ruto- Raila Strategy Conversation

Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen has criticized the leader of Kenya Kwanza’ s bilateral negotiation team, Kimani Ichung’ wah, for using a letter to communicate with Wiper’ s leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, while the ruling coalition is preparing for talks to return to peace with Azimio.

Speaking during a fundraising campaign in Homa Bay County on August 6, Murkomen suggested that the two should communicate by phone to speed up the process.

Murkomen stressed that Kenyans are largely saddened by the outcome of the talks, which aim to bring peace after a series of anti- government protests. The use of letters between the two representatives has been causing delays in the negotiation process, especially since Raila gave 30 days for the negotiations to be completed.

In response to the slow progress, Raila has warned to return to the streets if the talks continue to take too long. ” If they want to meet at a restaurant or County Hall, we don’ t want to know. When they get there, let them talk. Is there a problem with the conversation? ” ” If they don’ t have contact numbers, I will share those contacts, ” he explained. The former senator of Elgeyo Marakwet urged both parties to approach the negotiations sincerely and abandon the extreme position.

He noted that all teams can find sustainable solutions to all the issues raised by the opposition. Earlier in the week, Ichung’ wah said the Kenya First team will not engage with Azimio on the cost of living, devolution of power, and audit of the 2022 general election. ” This is not the first time we are having a conversation.dbbc56bbdff64b50a239a5f75a164d89?quality=uhq&resize=720

The way to build this country is by having a continuous conversation about the issues that arise all the time, ” he said. ” By having this conversation, we ignore confusion, misunderstanding, and misunderstanding. ” At the same time, he asked the opponents to avoid threatening to return to the streets and give space for dialogue.

Kalonzo and Ichung’ wah have been communicating through letters posted on social media. The resolution under the leadership of Kalonzo was the first to invite the ruling coalition for talks on August 7 at the Serena Hotel. Ichung’ wah in a statement opposed the proposal with his recommendations saying the talks should be held on Thursday 10 August. The Majority Leader in the National Assembly suggested that the meeting be held at County Hall in Nairobi or government offices to avoid wastage of public resources.
