On Thursday, Martha Karua, the leader of Narc Kenya, had a gathering with Mt Kenya leaders who are part of the Azimio coalition. The attendees of the meeting comprised former Agriculture CS Peter Munya, former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi, and the troubled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni. The meeting took place amid some unrest within the coalition.

Martha Karua referred to the gathering as a consultative meeting without further elaboration.
“Consultative meeting with KAMWENE leaders this morning,” she tweeted.
No additional specifics regarding the meeting were disclosed. The Kamwene group, which also involves former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, was not present during the meeting.
In recent days, Kenya Kwanza leaders have alleged that the Opposition has excluded the Mt Kenya region, as no one from the region was appointed to Azimio’s five-member team.
Some Azimio members criticized the Kamwene group, claiming that they were not contributing positively to the opposition coalition. They were accused of making unreasonable demands within the coalition without offering anything substantial in return. This tension highlights the internal challenges and disagreements within the coalition.
“ODM currently finds value in a coalition with Wiper and DAP-K. Others are donkeys we have to whip to make any impact.
“The others are stressing ODM with lots of funny rendezvous while in the real sense, they wasted our votes, handed over power to someone they want us to call enemy but they call them “my President.” Alai said.
