Mumias East MP Peter Salasya’s political journey has been about overcoming what most consider impossible odds.On Sunday, August 26th, Mp. Salasya was among the lawmakers who joined the head of state on his five-day tour in western Kenya. But what caught the attention of many is a photo of Salasya in a crowd of people, sparking mixed reactions online. The first time Mp rocked a grey blazer, white t-shirt, and blue jeans, he was spotted next to former Kakamega Senator Cleo Malala.
His political ambitions, however, began with a humiliating loss at Egerton University, where he vied for the academic directorship as a freshman. The 32-year-old former teacher won the Mumias East seat on his second attempt, beating seasoned and financially strong politicians.
Earlier, Prime Cabinet Secretary issued a stern warning on Western region leaders who skipped President William Ruto’s tour.Â
Speaking at the interdenominational service in Bungoma County, Mudavadi condemned leaders who were misled to skip the tour of the President saying it has no basis.
