More Pain: Government Drops Major Setbacks To Kenyans In New Tax Proposal

The Kenya Kwanza government has dropped major setbacks for Kenyans, which might inflict more pain on the subjects.

According to the Nation Newspaper, there is a new tax proposal for State contracts. Treasury wants a Bill enacted with immediate effect. This is in order to introduce a levy that will see government suppliers and contractors pay a levy equivalent to 0.03 percent of contract value.

The netizens are expected to tighten their belts over the same. This comes shortly after the anti-government demonstrations hit the ground, with police officers and civilians engaged in street-level running battles.

 

The cost of living has recently been rising over and over again. The government has, however, continued to enact more taxes, which have directly and indirectly impacted the lives of citizens.
