One of the Azimio leaders that attended today’s funeral for victims of police violence in Luanda, in the Nyanza area, was Mbita constituency member Millie Odhiambo. The well known, forceful legislator who stormed the platform denounced the repressive treatment of the Nyanza region’s residents by the government during the Azimio Coalition anti-government demonstrations.
As she forewarned First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto of an approaching storm in her family, the enraged MP threw caution to the wind. Mrs. Odhiambo lamented the deaths of two boys in Luanda, whose mother was sobbing as she paid tribute to her two murdered sons.
Mrs. Odhiambo warned the First Lady to gird herself for a worse tragedy promising that she would weep more than the Nyanza families who had lost loved ones. The lawmaker was overheard reiterating what Senator Osotsi had said when asked about the President’s health recently, which he believed was getting worse.
Additionally, the contentious MP who appeared to mock Mama Rachel Ruto’s Christianity promised the victims that she would investigate the incident and see to it that justice was done.
