Met Department issues weather forecast for next five days

The Meteorological Department has predicted continued rainy weather in most parts of the country running from Friday, November 29, 2024, to Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

In their latest report, the weatherman indicates that the rainfall witnessed in most parts of the country will be a normal occurrence in the regions of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties.

In these regions in the lake basin, Rift Valley and West of the Rift Valley, Friday will have rainy weather in the afternoons while Saturday, November 30, 2024, will have dry mornings with the afternoons and nights receiving rainfall in major areas.

The same pattern is set to continue until December 3, 2024, with temperatures ranging from 11 degrees Celsius all the way to 29 degrees Celsius.

For the North-Western region of Turkana and Samburu Counties, there will be sunny intervals from Friday, November 29, 2024, through to Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the mornings, with isolated chances of rainfall in a few places.

Also, the temperatures are expected to be ranging from 11 degrees Celsius all the way to 38 degrees Celsius.

Nairobi area weather

For the highland areas East of the Rift Valley including Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi Counties, there will be mostly cloudy mornings with sunny intervals while the afternoons will be mostly rainy, with exceptions on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, when sunny intervals are expected.

Also, the temperatures are expected to be ranging from 6 degrees Celsius all the way to 30 degrees Celsius.

In the North-Eastern region of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties, the mornings will be mostly characterized by sunny weather intervals with few areas expected to experience rainfall.

Similarly, the temperatures are expected to be ranging from 18 degrees Celsius all the way to 38 degrees Celsius.

Eastern & coast forecast

For the South-Eastern lowlands of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties as well as inland parts of Tana River County, the mornings will be characterized by sunny weather intervals while the afternoons are expected to be pounded by showers throughout the period between Friday and Tuesday.

Also, the temperatures are expected to be ranging from 13 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius.

In the coastal region of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties as well as coastal parts of Tana River County, the mornings are expected to have showers over a few places while the majority of the areas experience sunny weather intervals.

The afternoons, however, will remain mostly cloudy with a few areas receiving rainfall while the temperatures remain regular, ranging between 23 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius during the forecast period.
