Former Roots party presidential running mate on 24th June evening resurfaced online with a caution to kenyans.
Speaking via her official twitter handle, Justina Wamae cautioned kenyans over an increase cases of sim swapping and theft of money.
Warning kenyans, Wamae claimed that atleast three people have been conned today via the act of sim swapping where their WhatsApp accounts were also hacked.
” Leo na Kesho be very careful. Hackers are busy. Today 3 people I know have had their lines SWAPPED and WhatsApp hacked.Remember to dial *100*100# to WHITELIST your line”, she wrote.
She further called on Safaricom to update their systems admitting the perpetrators are becoming bolder day by day.
” @SafaricomPLC I hope you are reinforcing your systems, they are becoming bolder by the day. Also help to report +254 111 344790 by sending an SMS to 333.Hii kutaka kuomoka inaleta shida ama vile tulisema tunataka MWIZI wetu KINATURAMBA? #inatuhusu”, she added.
It should be noted that cases of sim swapping are on the increase and therefore you are called on to be very careful about your personal information regarding sim cards.
Arguably,.it is like Safaricom are not doing their job as it should be because tens of kenyans are always being conned everyday without any further assistance from the company.
