After serving 19 years in prison, former Mathare united player Tedium Rodgers had a second go at life during the Kenyatta presidential pardon in 2019.
The outspoken midfielder did not take his second chance and the freedom handed to him as something casual as he embarked on a mission to educate the society on the effects of crime.
His work was referenced in the life he lived it’s consequences what he missed over the period of his imprisonment the things he learnt while in prison and the benefits of freedom.
His journey of community enlightenment kicked off in 2019 after his release from Kamiti prison and ever since he never backed down.
Now news coming out is that the footballer turned motivational speaker is no more. Rodgers is reported to have succumbed after he was involved in a grisly road accident in Naivasha.
One of the key figures on the nation confirming that the news was football enthusiast Carol Radull who penned down an emotional farewell.
” Tedium Rogers was given a second chance at life in 2019 when a presidential pardon saw him released from Kamiti Prison after 19 years behind bars. The former Mathare United midfielder died in a grissly road accident in Naivasha yesterday. He was 50.
Tedium had become a mentor for the youth ; speaking against crime; since his release. Rest in peace. ” Radull asserted.
