With less than a fortnight remaining before president Ruto’s term enters second year of leadership, Kenyans have taken to Twitter to share their experiences and views about the regime. President Ruto was sworn in on 13th September 2022 after his team alongside IEBC successfully challenged the Azimio la Umoja Coalition. The later had dragged the Kenya Kwanza and IEBC to Supreme Court citing discrepancies in the management of 2022 general elections.
He assumed office as the 5th president of the sovereign Republic of Kenya and commander in chief of the defense forces. He gave a lot of hope to Kenyans who facing tough economic times arising from the 2020 break out of Covid 19. He promised to lower the cost of living which has risen exponentially over years . He promised to ensure creation of job opportunities for young Kenyans who are at the verge of giving up.
However as Ruto’s regime enters second years , some Kenyans have lost hope that little can be changed to salvage the worsening situation. Others still keep hope alive that President Ruto will eventually restore favourable economic situations.
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans on Twitter to a post by Lawyer Cyprian Nyakundi.
Do you think President Ruto will manage to solve the issue of the cost of living ? Share your thoughts.
