Kenya To Host African Delegates For Aviation Summit: How To Register

National airline, Kenya Airways is gearing up to host the third Africa Aviation Innovation Summit (AAIS) 2024 set to take place between October 17 and 18, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya. 

According to a press statement seen by Viral Tea, the summit aims to bring together aviation industry stakeholders, offering exclusive opportunities for industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders to collaborate, share insights, and explore partnerships to shape the aviation sector’s future.

The 2024 Summit’s theme is “Diversification: Reaching New Customer Segments”. The summit is a celebration of African innovation, highlighting the creativity and contributions of African innovators and startups in enhancing the aviation innovation landscape.

Additionally, it seeks to address the evolving needs of customers in this dynamic industry and emphasize the crucial role of the African aviation industry in the continent’s economy.

Allan Kilavuka, KQ Group MD and CEO, stated, “The Africa Aviation Innovation Summit is an important event that encourages constructive discourse among key players in the African aviation industry.”

“The summit provides an opportunity for knowledge sharing and collaboration as we explore business opportunities for mutual growth in the region and celebrate the creativity and contributions of African innovators and startups,” he explained.

The public is invited to participate and engage in in-depth conversations with various stakeholders from aviation industry leaders, policymakers, government representatives, aircraft manufacturers and suppliers, airport authorities, and travel and tourism representatives at no cost. “By attending, you will gain unique insights, expand your network, and contribute to the future of aviation,” the press statement revealed.

The upcoming Africa Aviation Innovation Summit is designed to unite leaders, innovators, policymakers, and stakeholders in the aviation sector, focusing on the aforementioned theme for its 2024 edition.

With the African aviation industry playing a pivotal role in the continent’s economy by supporting millions of jobs and substantial economic activity, the summit aims to address the evolving needs of customers in the dynamic industry, especially in the wake of the pandemic.

KQ is partnering with the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) to host the event. AFRAA was founded in Accra, Ghana, in 1968, and is, as of February 2021, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The primary purpose of AFRAA is to establish and facilitate cooperation between African airlines.

It boasts of a membership of 50 airlines comprising all the major intercontinental African operators and they represent over 85 per cent of total international traffic carried by all African airlines.

35 partners enrolled in the AFRAA partnership programme for the development of air transport in Africa, and they comprise aircraft and engine manufacturers, aviation equipment and component suppliers, global distribution companies, IT & e-commerce solution providers and other non-airline entities in the aviation sector.
