“It is easy to do propaganda, and that can win you elections, but you cannot run the government through propaganda.”, Kipruto Kirwa said.

For instance, President William Samoei Ruto is falsely expecting maize farmers to sell their products at a cheaper price just because he says it.

However, the majority of large-scale maize farmers in Kenya rely on their products to earn a living just like other government employees and other farmers of different products who do it on a large scale.

“Reducing the price of fertilizer is a small component of the cost of agriculture. The cost of agriculture starts with planting all the way to post-harvest.”, Kipruto Kirwa said.

Moreover, Kenyans often do not lack fertilizers to do farming. Kenya’s population is now density & huge tracts of land have been subdivided among the family members.

Consequently, not all the family members will plant maize because it used to be planted in the same fields. Others opted for livestock keeping, bee farming, and real estate, among other economic activities.
