Isaac Mwaura Fires Back At Morara Kebaso For Naming Him In Ruto Job Offer Claims

Mwaura in a sharp-worded rejoinder, denied the claims and slammed Morara for lying to members of the public.

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura on Thursday, August 29 joined forces with State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed in calling out 28-year-old businessman and lawyer Morara Kebaso over claims made on live TV that President William Ruto approached him with a job offer via a phone call.

Morara, who affirmed his sentiments before Mohamed’s response on Wednesday, August 28 during an interview with Citizen TV‘s Jeff Koinange, mentioned Mwaura in an X post, claiming the former Senator knew what transpired in the purported phone call between Morara and Ruto.

“I am not going to follow in the footsteps of those leaders who used to record the president or put him on loudspeakers to prove a point. I don’t think it’s good manners. For that reason, I will not focus on proving whether or not it happened. Isaac Mwaura knows it happened. William Ruto knows it happened. End of story,” Morara wrote.

“Let’s focus on kutengua mahali ametenga (uniting where he has divided). The call is not of any importance in the fight for good governance and the end of corruption. Let’s not divert the conversation. The nation knows who the liar is between me and Dr. William Ruto.”

However, Mwaura in a sharp-worded rejoinder, denied the claims and slammed Morara for lying to members of the public.

“Morara Kebaso, I am not aware of any call from the President to you. Please examine your conscience and show some patriotism. I just bumped into you at KICC like any other fellow citizen. Be honest with yourself,” he hit back.

The saga all began when Morara during the JKLive show disclosed that the Head of State’s handlers had approached him in light of intense fact-finding of various government projects in the country.

According to him, Ruto then called him to offer him a position in his government, which he respectfully declined. He did not reveal the particulars of his alleged conversation with Ruto.

His claims drew an immediate response from Mohamed, a former Citizen TV anchor, through a live phone interview that would set the tone for a fiery spat that played out on live television.

Mohamed set the record straight, saying “For the record, such a call never happened, it’s a statement of his imagination.”

“It’s just unbelievable. I mean, I wasn’t following but I was told about this, I’m just shocked at what the gentleman Morara is saying. I wonder why he would lie on national TV that the President called him,” he fired back.

Known for his outspoken nature, Morara has been spearheading an anti-government campaign by inspecting and highlighting ongoing and stalled government projects.

According to him, his cause is mainly sponsored by well-wishing Kenyans who send in money which he uses to fuel his car to tour the country to inspect projects launched by President Ruto.
