Details have now emerged as to why Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku Wept while President William Ruto was giving out his speech in Narok where he inaugurated the Maasai Cultural Week.
In a statement via The Star on Twitter, East African Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Honourable David Sankok, the real reason as to why Ole Lenku wept after Ruto announced the return of Amboseli National Park to Kajiado County, was a fulfillment of his late father Lenku Ole Mpaa’s dream.
According to Sankok, the late Ole Mpaa wanted the National Park to be reverted back to the local community. Ole Mpaa was a senior chief in Kajiado County.
“When one of our own, Ruto who is the president of the republic and nicknamed Naroro Nkuk (name given to the most courageous Moran among his age set) made the announcement to return Amboseli to us, the emotions overpowered most leaders including Lenku,” Exclaimed Sankok.
