Speaking on Sunday in Kasarani during a church service which was attended by the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, Sifuna argued that there was no need for the talks if their team will not be allowed to table issues on cost of living and compensation of victims of anti-government protests.

“We must continue speaking on issues that affect Kenyans. Today we have Eugene in our midst who is among those who will be representing us for the talks.”

“I and Senator Enoch Wambua have told Eugene and Kalonzo Musyoka that there are issues we have discussed during the bipartisan talks and the only remaining thing was action from the government.”

“The first thing we said is that those citizens who were shot dead by police officers and those in hospitals must be compensated. If the government does not say how they will compensate those Kenyans, then there is no need for the talks,” said Sifuna.

He further added, “Life is getting hard for Kenyans, Eugene, as you go for those talks, do not forget Kenyans, address the issue of cost of living and unga in particular.”

The Azimio team have been bold that cost of living is their first priority during the talks, with Kenya Kwanza arguing that such issue is not for discussion since the government has policies already in place to reduce the cost of living.

Azimio team will include Wamalwa, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, the Minority leader in the National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi, MP Amina Mnyazi and Senator Okong’o Omogeni.
