The much expected dialogue between the opposition and the government’s side has continued to elicit mixed reactions as each political camp appears to be boasting on whom has the upper hand in the talks.
From the Kenya kwanza faction, they have consistently ruled out any possibility of the handshake, with it’s top leadership echoing one statement that they’ll not repeat the mistake Kenyatta did.
They’ve gone futher to say that talks on the cost of living wouldn’t be discussed as that’s their mandate as government and if Azimio has a plan they should share them with the people but as for them they have a detailed course.
On the Azimio’s side, the Odinga led coalition has insisted that they’re not in the talks for the handshake as the governments keeps saying that actually they’ve never been interested in one.
Furthermore they’ve have issued a thirty day ultimatum to their counterparts in the committee talks saying that the lapse of thirty days without an agreement they’ll be going back to the streets.
They also ruled out talks based on conditions issued by Kenya kwanza saying that any kind of condition set for them to adhere to somas to go ahead with the talks they’ll not listen to it.
Speaking in Mt Kenya as they accompanied the president in opening several projects, the majority leader Kikuyu member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wa said that the talks will be characterized different form the past ones.
That apart from it being organized in public spaces and not luxurious hotels, they have listed key to essentials that’ll be missing.
That they’ll not enjoy tea breaks as usual as they’ll be non, in addition to that they’ll be no any kind of allowances as the talks should represent the face of kenyas challenges.
