‘I was a wild child, I ran away from home for 2 years galavanting in Nairobi with Prezzo’ – Huddah Monroe

Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe has recalled running from home to soak in the highs and lows of Nairobi street life with legendary musician Prezzo for months.

Huddah opened up about her rebellious teenage years and the life lessons she learned along the way.

In a series of Insta stories seen by K24 Digital on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the Rich Beauty CEO revealed that while she was on her rebellious streak, things got so intense that she ran away from home for two years.

“Adolescent life Despite that, my rebellious a*s I was a wild child! I ran away from home for 2 years galavanting Nairobi streets some months with Prezzo,” Huddah revealed.

Huddah also shared her mother’s response to her teenage curiosity about boys.

To drive the point home, her mother brought her to Kenyatta Hospital, where she was shown patients suffering from HIV/AIDS an experience she says left her shaken.

Following the visit, her mother began offering her advice on men and the importance of using protection. Huddah’s mother told her that she was now old enough to make her own decisions and needed to be responsible for herself.

Her mother encouraged her to go out into the world, achieve great things, and always take steps to protect herself

“How mothers know you are looking at boys is also wild. My mom took me to Kenyatta Hospital to see p****e with HIV/AIDS She said it’s coz of s*x, and my 16-year-old self was traumatized. After that, she immediately started giving me advice on men and using protection. She said ‘You are grown now, I can no longer be there to take care of you, my daughter, go out there, conquer the world, be great & protect yourself,’” Huddah Monroe stated.

Huddah, Prezzo relationship

In 2014, Huddah sent the internet into a frenzy by claiming Prezzo was the lucky guy to pop her cherry, insisting he was her one true love.

Despite their very public breakup and some seriously nasty exchanges, Prezzo flat-out denied ever dating Huddah.

Fast forward, they buried the hatchet. Huddah later announced that the ex-boyfriend-who-may-or-may-not-have-been-official was gracing a party that she was hosting at the time.

Buried the hatchet… And the once love of my life. The n***a that broke my virginity (T.M.I?????????) will be coming thru to Huddah Million Party ???? … El Presidente @prezzo254 ???????? We don’t turn up ??…. we turn over ??…….???????????? #HuddahMillionParty #huddahlove,” Huddah posted at the time on social media.

During her time in Big Brother Africa, Huddah shed tears on live TV saying she had missed Prezzo. Later in the show when she was nominated for eviction from the house, Prezzo launched #ProjectSaveHuddah to keep her in the house.

Huddah Monroe and Prezzo gained fame during their appearances on the Big Brother Africa reality show, though in different seasons.

Huddah Monroe participated in Big Brother Africa Season 8, also known as The Chase, in 2013. Known for her bold personality, Huddah quickly became popular on the show. However, her stay was short-lived as she was the first housemate to be evicted from the house.

She, however, leveraged her brief stint and she is one of the most followed social media influencers to date.

Prezzo, whose real name is Jackson Ngechu Makini on the other hand, is a rapper who participated in Big Brother Africa Season 7, dubbed Stargame, in 2012.

He was one of the most talked-about contestants due to his confident, sometimes controversial demeanor, and his romantic involvement with fellow housemate Goldie, a Nigerian singer. Prezzo managed to stay in the house until the very end, finishing as the first runner-up.
