Before the post, he shared a photo showing masked individuals crossing Kimathi Street in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on their way to a coffee restaurant to arrest him.
Social media personality Shadrack Kiprono, popularly known as Shad Khalif, has reported that he has been arrested.
Shad took to his X account on Thursday, June 25 stating “I’ve been arrested I’m being taken to Kamukunji police.”
Before the post, he shared a photo showing individuals in hoodies crossing Kimathi Street in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on their way to a coffee restaurant to arrest him.
Nation Media Group’s (NMG) Managing Editor-Newsroom Production, James Smart, also confirmed by revealing the individuals he stated were police officers had arrested Shad and a security guard inside the restaurant.
Haki Africa Executive Director, Hussein Khalid also reported that the unknown men picked up the social media personality and escorted him into a waiting police car on the street.
Another post Shad had shared showed a selfie of him as he revealed that he was waiting to be booked at Central Police Station.
X user Ms Wega posted that “They have switched off his phone and MOVED him to an unknown location. He was taken in a Subaru Forester.”
The reasons for his arrest by the time of publishing this story are yet to be established. Authorities are also yet to comment on the matter.
