Details have now emerged on conversation the opposition boss Raila Odinga had with Homabay county residents last evening. Raila was attending the last day of the Luo Cultural festival hosted in the afore-named county led by Governor Gladys Wanga.
Information shows that while addressing the residents if Homabay, Raila affirmed that the anti-government protests over the high cost of living are still on. Raila informed that as earlier scheduled, the peaceful demonstrations will commence on July 7th.
He then urged the residents to prepare and turn up in large numbers on the material day, accusing President Ruto of being unable to go govern the country.
“I want you to get ready for July 7. You need to show the world that you’re not pleased with the current situation in the country,” Raila told the residents.
Speaking in luo dialect, Raila asked the residents on whether they’re in tandem with his view on staging massive protests against President Ruto’s administration. The crowd responded affirmatively while cheering, a gesture that shows they are ready to join him for the protests.
Jothurwa uyie? (are you in agreement?) Raila asked amid cheers from the crowd.
This comes in the middle of a major political shocker for Raila Odinga after cracks were reported in his camp. According to a section of Azimio MPs who opened up to Sunday Nation, the coalition is experiencing a massive disorganization and unity, in accordance to what happened during the voting process on the Finance bill.
Could this affect the planned demos? Share your views with us as we wait what would unfold in the coming days.
