The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the postponement of the Harmony4Haiti Concert, which was scheduled for August 24, 2024, at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Sing’oei Korir announced this on Tuesday, August 20, revealing that the event will now take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The concert, organised in collaboration with the Africa 4 Haiti (A4H) Initiative, was allocated the new date, with Sing’oei outlining the need for more time to raise awareness and broaden participation among artists from various regions.

“Harmony4Haiti Concert has been postponed to 8 September 2024 to allow for further awareness creation and expand participation of artists from different jurisdictions,” Sing’oei stated.
The event aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Haiti and Africa, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
The PS, who spoke during the event’s announcement on August 7, revealed that it will feature a series of activities which will include musical performances by renowned artists from Haiti and Africa. There will also be a cultural exhibition showcasing Haitian and African art, crafts, and cuisine.
“Africa and Haiti share deep historical and cultural ties. To demonstrate solidarity with the people of Haiti, the State Department for Foreign Affairs and A4H will jointly host an event dubbed ‘Harmony4Haiti Concert and Cultural Festival.’ This event aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Haiti and Africa, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation,” the Principal Secretary noted.
The concert is not only a cultural celebration but also an opportunity to showcase Haiti to the world, emphasising the country’s rich history, resilience, and the enduring connections between Haiti and the African Continent.
With the additional time, the organisers aim to amplify the event’s reach and ensure it reflects the diverse artistic expressions that both Africa and Haiti have to offer.
This announcement came after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a joint briefing with the Africa4Haiti254 Initiative (A4H) to highlight Kenya’s commitment to the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission in Haiti.
PS Sing’oei underscored Kenya’s support for Haiti which reflects its unwavering dedication to global peace and stability.
“The MSS Mission has seen substantial progress, with Kenyan forces playing a pivotal role in support of the Haitian Government and the maintenance of security,” he revealed.
