Azimio-One Kenya on Tuesday, August 1 held the coalition’s Parliamentary Group Meeting. Azimio leader Raila Odinga says that the PG meeting was fruitful. “We had a fruitful discussion with our coalition’s Parliamentary Group, confirming our commitment to engage Kenya Kwanza in talks while keeping true to our ideals and objectives,” Raila says. The coalition has already come up with a 5-member team that will represent it in talks with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza team. Azimio maintains that its four point agenda during the talks will be; cost of living, electoral audit and reforms, non interference in coalitions and their constituent parties and finally accountability and probe into police brutality that has claimed dozens of innocent lives.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made light of his intellectual and linguistic ability – leaving the audience in stitches. Speaking on Tuesday during the handover of the Education Taskforce Report, Gachagua joked that his education level is low but he is making progress by osmosis. According to Gachagua, he has been hanging around learned individuals and as a result his language and thinking have greatly improved. “Unajua masomo yangu iko chini kidogo. Since I started engaging with them (professors), even my language improved, my whole thinking,” said Gachagua.
