Fresh Twist As Ichung’wah Told To Leave Ruto’s Negotiation Team, His Best Replacement Revealed

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has expressed his viewpoint that the Kenya Kwanza coalition is displaying a deficiency in committing to participate in the discussions aimed at resolving the intense political dispute between the government and the opposition.

Senator Osotsi has indicated that the Kenya Kwanza group has not exhibited a sincere intention in their team selection, suggesting that their representatives should be on par with the caliber of leaders representing the Azimio team.

According to him, Kimani Ichung’wah, who leads the Kenya Kwanza team, cannot be considered on the same level as Kalonzo Musyoka, who leads the Azimio team. In his opinion, a more reputable individual should take on the role instead.

“The leader of our team is Kalonzo Musyoka a man with an international stature look at the other side they are being led by a heckler called Kimani Ichung’wah. I hope that they will do better in these talks,” he said.

“[We wanted] at least someone who is comparable to Kalonzo. Maybe they should have tried somebody like my brother Musalia Mudavadi against Kalonzo that would make sense. But now bringing Ichung’wah a man who can be compared to Kariuki Chotara in the KANU days.”

Osotsi shared his views during an appearance on Citizen TV’s Daybreak show on Monday. He further contended that while the Azimio team initially embraced public involvement in the discussions, Ichung’wah promptly discouraged media coverage of their meetings.f2b5e18b34304bc1823b30a96f23d28c?quality=uhq&resize=720

The legislator pointed out that Kenya Kwanza has repeated this approach in past discussions, which ultimately proved unproductive, likening it to a situation where one team, Team A, competes against another team, Team D.

The initial session of the new discussions occurred on August 9, overseen by a combined committee of 10 individuals, with each faction being represented by 5 members.

Championed by Majority Leader Ichung’wah, the Kenya Kwanza team consists of Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, Hassan Omar, and Catherine Wambilianga.

On the other side, Azimio’s group includes Kalonzo, Minority Party Leader Opiyo Wandayi, DAP Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nyamira Senator Okon’go Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.
