A fire has broken out at Isiolo Boys’ High School just days after a similar incident occurred at Isiolo Girls’ High School.
The Kenya Rèď CrÓss confirmed the fire incident on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, and noted that a response team had been dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.
“Fire incident reported at Isiolo Boys High School. Response team activated,” the Kenya Rèď CrÓss announced in a statement.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established, and no immediate reports of injuries or f********s have been reported.

Endarasha fire tragedy
The incident comes in the wake of a tragic fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni, Nyeri County, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, where 21 pupils lost their lives and several others were injured.
Authorities are currently probing the cause of the fire at the school as concerns about the safety measures in place at the learning institutions in the country grow.
In response to the Hillside Endarasha Academy tragedy, President William Ruto declared three days of national mourning.
“During this time, the Kenyan and East African Community (EAC) flags will be flown at half-mast at State House, all Kenyan embassies, public buildings, m******y bases, naval vessels, and across the country from dawn on Monday, September 9, 2024, until sunset on Wednesday, September 11, 2024,” Ruto announced.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Renson Ingonga, instructed the Inspector General of Police to launch an investigation into the matter.
“Under the Kenyan Constitution of 2010, which ensures every child’s right to education, safety, and protection from harm, the DPP has directed the police to carry out a detailed investigation to establish the cause of the fire and determine whether negligence or recklessness by those responsible played a role. The findings will be forwarded to the DPP for review and potential l**********n,” Ingonga stated in a press release.
