Finer Details Emerge On Why a Vocal Azimio Legislature Met Mudavadi On Thursday

Vocal Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Lawmaker and Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya on Thursday met Prime Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi. As per the reports from the meeting, the aim was to discuss the plight of the infamous Mumias Sugar Company which has since stalled despite series of interventions from the government and other stakeholders.

With the country politically polarised and torn between Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition and Kenya Kwanza Alliance, such meetings could be interpreted as political, but indeed tgis one was not of the sort.

While revealing why he met Mudavadi, Salasya revealed that he asked the Prime Cabinet Secretary for political support and goodwill in a bid to revive the Mumias Sugar Company.

While adding that the meeting is not the end of his future engagements, the vocal Lawmaker revealed that he will be seeking for political support from all leaders from Western Kenya from both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza including those opposed to the revival of the company.

UDA Party Secretary General Cleophas Malala during a previous event in Kakamega County had urged President William Samoei Ruto to look into the Mumias Sugar factory that grounded some years back.
